ABOUT US
A brief of our history
Christchurch Chinese Methodist Church (CCMC) was established on 9th April 1995 by Rev. Joel Siew with a group of around 30 overseas Chinese immigrants from Sarawak, Malaysia. We were mainly Methodist believers who saw the needs to establish our own Chinese Methodist church in Christchurch. The church is under the Annual Conference of the Chinese Methodist Church in New Zealand.
CCMC initially rented the Upper Riccarton Kiwi Methodist Church to conduct our Sunday worship services and church activities. As the church grew over the years, we were eager to have our own church premises and thus we began the search of the new church premises from 1997 onward. By the grace of God, in the early 2010, CCMC managed to secure a deal through a faithful church parishioner to purchase over a beautiful landmark historical church which belonged to the Merivale Kiwi Methodist Church.
